Galerija Siva
Galerija Siva seeks works that emerge within the context of contemporary, experimental, and interdisciplinary art, as well as practices rooted in street art, illustration, design, comics, and other unconventional forms of expression. Special emphasis is placed on projects exploring alternative artistic formats, questioning the relationship between space, audience, and media, and opening critical reflections on contemporary society. The call is open to both trained and self-taught artists, collectives, curators, and residents. Galerija Siva operates as part of the social cultural and community center AKC Medika, located in a former factory revitalized by artists and cultural workers through squatting. The gallery's program is based on a DIY (do-it-yourself) ethos, artistic autonomy, and freedom of expression. While Siva originated from the street art scene, it has evolved into a platform for contemporary and alternative artistic practices, open to disciplines and forms that often lack institutional representation.
Travel support (up to €100 for artists from Croatia, up to €500 for international artists), accommodation within AKC Medika (for residency participants), partial production support (for new work produced during the residency), covered basic technical requirements and technical assistance, promotion through social media, mailing lists, posters, and online portals, exhibition documentation (photo/video), administrative support for mobility funding, letters of invitation, and assistance with applications, and a modest artist fee (depending on the annual budget).
Artists of all generations and educational backgrounds; authors working in the fields of: installation, video, performance, sound, site-specific and new media art; graffiti, street art, illustration, design, comics; experimental and socially engaged art; curators with concepts aligned with the gallery’s spatial and programmatic openness; artists interested in residencies and producing new work.
