About the Open Call

Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This residency is open to all artists, writers, musicians, or performance artists to explore the volcanic landscapes, rare flora and fauna, and sacred Hawaiian culture. Includes $4,000 stipend, studio space, and housing. Applicants must have their own transportation. The program may involve public events or presentations and potential art donation to the NPS collection.

Requirements

Must have own transportation. Proof of insurance (auto, health, accidental, art/supplies) is required. Selected artists may undergo background checks and sign various agreements including codes of conduct and volunteer contracts.

Apply online via the Submittable portal. Application fee is $60 for single artists, $120 for couples/duos, and $160 for groups of 3 or more.
