Art Outreach
[hearth] is a community art space initiative by Art Outreach supporting independent Singapore-based practitioners with free space and micro-grant funding for creation and exhibition. It provides a purpose-built, museum-quality space in Gillman Barracks for diverse mediums and artistic explorations, often engaging with social or environmental concerns. Since 2020, it has supported over 60 projects and 220 practitioners. Micro-grants of up to S$500 are available to defray direct production costs. The JYP Creative Legacy Fund offers up to S$3,000 for early-career practitioners (aged 40 and below) focusing on material, image-making, or process-driven practices, including graphic design, illustration, printmaking, ceramics, woodworking, textiles, and fashion. Projects at Hearth are not eligible for National Arts Council grants.
Free exhibition space, micro-grants up to S$500 to defray production costs, and potential additional project support up to S$3,000 from the JYP Creative Legacy Fund.
Applicants must be Singapore-based independent practitioners above the age of 18. Applications are welcome for individual or group exhibitions, open studios, or public programmes. There are some restrictions on content and installation, detailed in the application guidelines.
