About the Open Call

Hopelab is launching its inaugural artist residency, inviting four emerging artists to help reimagine what youth well-being can look and feel like. During the three-month residency, participants engage in biweekly check-ins and guest lectures. The residency includes a $7,500 living stipend, a $2,500 materials budget, mentorship, a one-week in-person retreat at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, and a public showcase in San Francisco.

Requirements

Aged 18-29, located in the United States, working in specified media, exploring intersections of art and mental health, rooted in community/movement work, and available for the October 5-11, 2026 retreat.
