Idle Hands
The Idle Hands Incubation Award supports emerging and mid-career NYC-based artists working in time-based media (film, video, sound). The program prioritizes experimentation, risk, and critical reflection. The award includes a $10,000 unrestricted stipend, professional mentorship through studio visits, and a culminating public exhibition in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Artists must be available for the award cycle from May 1 to August 2, 2026.
$10,000 stipend, mentorship, and exhibition space.
Must be based in one of the five boroughs of New York City. Open to emerging and mid-career artists, including collectives.
Submit the online application form including statement of intent, thematic proposal, and a link to 10-15 work samples in external storage.
