About the Open Call

The II International Video Art Contest Medinaceli EROS – Year 2025 – is an opportunity for artists who have the human body and its erotic pulsion as the theme of their creations, allowing them to reach their audience. The Contest aims to bring together diverse audiovisual production proposals at both national and international levels, from a novel and original point of view. Its intention is to offer artists an opportunity to disseminate their proposals in a specific place, such as La Maison D’EROS in Medinaceli, thus also facilitating the contemplation of sensual art by the public. Consent and data protection: By uploading the video, the author grants the Contest organization the right to reproduce and distribute in the spaces selected for the exhibition. They also authorize the publication of their name and video credits in the list that will include all participants. Furthermore, the organization reserves the right to use the names, surnames, and still images of the selected participants or their videos, always with the intention of disseminating and promoting the contest, as well as for publicity in public media, without such use conferring any right to remuneration. The transfer of these rights will continue once the contest and the screening at La Maison D’EROS are closed, under the tacit consent of both parties, unless the author/owner indicates otherwise. Simple participation by submitting the proposal implies acceptance of the regulatory bases of this Festival.

What is Offered

Five prizes will be awarded: First Prize: 500€; Second Prize: 300€; Third Prize: 200€; Fourth Accessit: Diploma; Fifth Accessit: Diploma. Selected videos will be publicly screened on October 18, 2025, at El Jardín de las Delicias de La Maison D’EROS.

Requirements

One video per artist or collective. Videos may have been submitted to other video art contests or festivals. Maximum duration of 5 minutes per video. If the video contains dialogues or texts in a language other than Spanish, Spanish subtitles must be included. Videos must be original, and the video artists or group must possess the copyright for both image and sound. Works that deviate from artistic criteria or violate current Spanish laws or the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will not be accepted. Videos should be sent in H.264/MPEG-4 or a similar standardized format, allowing for good quality viewing. Maximum recommended file size is 1 GB. Aspect ratio (16:9).

How to Apply

Applications are made by completing and sending the online Registration Form to the address: dearte@dearte.info, indicating in the subject line: INSCRIPTION, NAME AND TWO SURNAMES. The registration form is available for download by clicking on the provided link. The following documentation must be attached to the email: photocopy of the contestant's ID or passport, a brief updated CV, and proof of payment of the registration fee. Videos must be sent online to lamaisondeeros@dearte.info. It is mandatory to complete and resend the registration form in PDF to the previously provided email.
