About the Open Call

The International Contact Improvisation & Butoh Festival En Provence is a 7-day immersive dance and movement exploration for 35 participants, open to all levels from beginners to advanced and professional dancers. The festival takes place in Rustrel, one of France's most beautiful villages, at the foot of the Monts de Vaucluse. Participants will engage in workshops focused on Contact Improvisation and Butoh dance, complemented by jams, live music, and opportunities for shared experiences. The philosophy emphasizes quality pedagogy, intimate group dynamics, connection with nature, cultural exchange between local and international visitors, and the core principles of Contact Improvisation. Accommodation is provided at the XII century Château de Rustrel (for those choosing the package), and all lunches and dinners feature organic vegetarian cuisine prepared by Silvia Sampons. The event is co-founded by Mercè Nebot and Pep Nebot, passionate about dance and creating spaces for sharing and creativity. The festival aims to foster a sense of community, self-knowledge, and artistic growth.

What is Offered

Accommodation in shared rooms at Château de Rustrel (for those with accommodation package), all lunches and dinners with organic vegetarian cuisine, use of common spaces (dining room, bathrooms, terraces), all workshops and jams, and liability insurance. Coffee and tea will always be available, and a refrigerator will be provided for participants.

Requirements

The event is open to all who wish to share, learn, or deepen their experience in Contact Improvisation Dance, including beginners, advanced, and professional dancers. Participation is limited to 35 individuals and registrations are accepted in order of application.

The remaining balance can be transferred before the event or paid in cash on the first day. Bank transfer options for Spanish or French banks, or PayPal, are available.
