INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES 2025-26 - Video Art Miden

About the Open Call

Video Art Miden invites all video artists and video creators from all over the world to submit their videos for the next events & collaborations of Miden, which include screening events and video art exhibitions in Greece and internationally. There are no thematic or morphological restrictions, but note that the curatorial focus of Video Art Miden is experimental art videos and not narrative short films. Videos under 6min duration will be preferred. Along with the general open call, Miden addresses a special call for a series of thematic tributes: A tablespoon of., Hide and seek, Plastic flesh, Videodance and video-performance, Artificial Intelligence (AI). The curatorial team of Miden schedules and organizes various events & collaborations in Greece and other countries. For each event, the complete screening program, exact dates and places will be announced on time to the artists, posted on our website www.festivalmiden.gr and published to the press & social media. Selection and programming is decided only by the curatorial team of Video Art Miden and/or invited curators. Video Art Miden has the right to reject a work without any further explanation. Miden reserves the right to cancel, postpone or relocate a scheduled event or the entire schedule of events due to force majeure or other critical reasons, without any further obligations. By submitting the entry form and/or sending your screening copy, you declare that you are the owner or legal representative of all copyrights of the work and that you undertake all legal & economic responsibility for any legal and copyright issues arising from the presentation of your work.

What is Offered

Opportunity for free presentation and exhibition of video art in Greece and internationally, both physically and online, in various screening events and collaborations. Selected works may be used for promotional purposes (TV broadcast, trailers, video stills in printed material, website/social media, press media). Publication of artist texts (CV, synopsis, production info) in promotional materials. Inclusion in Video Art Miden's archives for non-profit usage.

Requirements

Open to all creators (individuals, groups, organizations) of any nationality and background. Videos under 6 min duration preferred (longer may be selected exceptionally). Curatorial focus is experimental art videos, not narrative short films. Submissions must include a permanent URL for previewing the whole video (no excerpts/trailers, no expiration date, no paid subscription). If selected, artists must provide a screening copy and at least 1 video still within 10 days in best possible quality (mp4, H.264, HD or full HD).

How to Apply

Submit electronically via the entry form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEtJe2z9e10Dcg6vdDhLiSl2BehbI_cCjNrIIbWFlrgT-XYg/viewform. Fill in a separate entry form for each video. Provide a permanent URL for previewing the whole video (no expiration or paid subscription links). If selected, artists will be notified by e-mail and asked to send a screening copy and at least 1 video still within 10 days, via free upload/download service (e.g. swisstransfer, wetransfer, dropbox, google drive) in mp4, H.264, HD or full HD format. In exceptional cases for uncompleted videos, contact festivalmiden@gmail.com with info and estimated completion time.
