The Art House
The Art House (TAH) and the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) offer a supported residency for artists living and working outside the UK. The program provides a two-month stay at TAH's accessible studios in Wakefield between May and July 2026. The residency is designed for artists at any stage of their career to experiment and innovate without the pressure of producing a final exhibition. Selected artists receive access to specialized studios including print, ceramics, and darkrooms, alongside technical and curatorial support.
Fully covered travel and visa costs, living costs covered by a per diem, funded studio space and accommodation, access to fully equipped print and ceramic studios and a darkroom, material budget, UK travel budget between London and Wakefield, coaching and mentoring sessions, and a week-long stay in London.
Artists must live and work outside the UK and hold nationality or have strong connections to a Commonwealth or former Commonwealth country, the US, EU, EEA, or Switzerland. Applicants must not have previously worked or exhibited in the UK.
Applications must be sent in the requested format as outlined in the downloadable information pack available on the website. For further enquiries, contact residencies@the-arthouse.org.uk.
