International Sculpture Biennial 2026

About the Open Call

The International Sculpture Biennial 2026 is an international competition inviting ten sculptors from different countries to create original and previously unpublished works on a free theme over seven consecutive days. Participants must be present in Resistencia, Chaco, Argentina, from July 10 to July 19, 2026. The Organizing Committee will provide up to 1 cubic meter of travertine marble, up to two sheets of polished stainless steel, compressed air for pneumatic tools, general-purpose welding equipment, plasma cutting tools, and a team of assistants. Sculptors are required to bring their own tools, including an angle grinder, and personal protective equipment. Each participant will receive an honorarium of USD 6,000. Awards include Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals for the top three entries, as well as the Sculptors’ Prize “Efraín Boglietti”, Public’s Prize “Juan Alberto García”, and Children’s Prize “Reinaldo Martínez”. All artworks produced will be exhibited for sixty days and then permanently installed in public spaces in Resistencia, becoming part of the Cultural Heritage of the city. Registration must be completed exclusively through the website www.bienaldelchaco.org by November 30, 2025. The jury will consist of three distinguished professionals.

What is Offered

Each participant will receive an honorarium of USD 6,000. The Organizing Committee will cover hotel accommodation, local transportation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner from July 9 to July 19, 2026. Materials provided include up to 1 cubic meter of travertine marble and up to two sheets of polished stainless steel. Assistance, compressed air for pneumatic tools, general-purpose welding equipment, and plasma cutting tools will also be provided.

Requirements

Ten sculptors from different countries will participate. Each sculptor must bring their own tools (including an angle grinder) and personal protective equipment. Sculptors must have valid medical insurance. Mandatory presence in Resistencia, Argentina from July 10 to July 19, 2026. The submitted work must be original and previously unpublished.
