Institute for Studies on Latin American Art (ISLAA)
ISLAA is pleased to announce the inaugural ISLAA Publication Grant, a new annual program supporting the publication and circulation of significant original scholarship on modern and contemporary art from Latin America and its diasporas. For the 2026 cycle, ISLAA will make available a total of USD 150,000 in grant funding, with awards of up to USD 25,000 per project. The program supports scholarly books, monographs, exhibition catalogues, and publications resulting from original archival research. Projects must be at a very advanced stage, with a complete or nearly complete manuscript, a final or near-final table of contents, a full sample chapter, confirmation from the publisher or institutional partner, and a detailed budget and publication timeline.
Awards of up to USD 25,000 per project to support the publication and circulation of scholarly works.
Applicants must be individual scholars, curators, independent researchers, museums, universities, research centers, archives, or nonprofit publishers. Individual and group applicants must have a confirmed publisher or eligible institutional partner. Projects must be at a very advanced stage with a near-complete manuscript.
Applications may be submitted in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. All required materials must be compiled into a single PDF file and emailed to applications@islaa.org by September 10, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
