About the Open Call

The Juried Sound Recording: Album program provides funding toward the costs of production of an original full-length sound recording. Financial support is set at 50% of eligible expenses, to a maximum reimbursement of $10,000, all of which must support the sound recording. Once the sound recording is completed, funding for all related promotional release activities (Marketing, Tour Support, Video, Showcase, and Radio Marketing) can be applied for.

What is Offered

Financial support of up to $10,000, set at 50% of eligible expenses, toward the costs of production of an original full-length sound recording. Additional funding for promotional release activities (Marketing, Tour Support, Video, Showcase, Radio Marketing) can be applied for after the sound recording is completed.

Requirements

Eligible applicants include artists rated General or 2 on their own behalf if unsigned, record labels rated Approved, 2 or 3 with an artist rated General or 2, and record labels in the Company Envelope: Mid-Tier program. Artists may only apply to one juried program (Artist Development, JSR: Album, or JSR: Single/EP) per fiscal year (April 1-March 31).

How to Apply

To apply, applicants need a rated Artist Profile and Applicant Profiles in the FACTOR online system. Required submissions include: Name of album and number of songs, Genre, First song release date and last song release date, a detailed marketing plan for the proposed sound recording, Artist bio, MP3 Demos for two of the tracks intended for recording, Lyrics (if applicable) to the assessment tracks, a sound recording budget, and total request. Applicants should sign in to their portal to access the application.
