About the Open Call

KAZ_LAB 2025 – Video Mapping Contest is an international video mapping competition that merges digital art with the memory of place and a creative interpretation of the cultural heritage of Kraków’s Kazimierz district. We invite artists from around the world to create short video mapping works to be displayed on the façade of a former synagogue – now the iconic HEVRE Club. Artists are invited to draw creative inspiration from the history of Kraków’s Kazimierz district, exploring themes of memory, identity, and cultural legacy. Technical requirements for video mapping include: form: video mapping; time duration: 1–5 minutes; resolution: 2800px × 1200px; frame rate: 30 fps; bitrate: min. 20 Mbps; format: H.264 (MP4) with sound (bitrate min. 192 kbps); file compatible with the Matrix; file name: [NameSurname_ProjectTitle].mp4. Video must not feature the title or the creator’s name at the start, the end, or any other part.

What is Offered

Prize money: 1st Prize – 6,000 PLN, 2nd Prize – 3,000 PLN, 3rd Prize – 2,000 PLN. The jury may also grant additional financial or material distinctions.

Requirements

Participants must submit their video mapping work (1–5 minutes, 2800px × 1200px, 30 fps, H.264 MP4 with sound), application form, participant’s declaration, GDPR information clause, and portfolio. Video must not feature the title or the creator’s name. Finalists are encouraged to attend, but must cover their own travel and accommodation costs.

How to Apply

The competition is open and free of charge to artists and collectives from around the world. To participate, please read the official guidelines and send a single email containing the following required documents: 1. APPLICATION FORM – completed online; 2. PARTICIPANT’S DECLARATION – scanned and signed (or digitally signed PDF) via email; 3. GDPR INFORMATION CLAUSE – scanned and signed (or digitally signed PDF) via email; 4. YOUR VIDEO MAPPING WORK – link to an online folder or file hosting platform (must meet technical requirements); 5. PORTFOLIO – as a link or PDF file (max. 15 MB).
