About the Open Call

The KSU Choreographic Residency program invites two nationally-emerging or mid-career choreographers to the Department of Dance each summer for a four-week residency; three weeks of creation in the studio and one week of Technical Rehearsals in the theater, to create two world premieres with the KSU Dance Company. Invited choreographers will audition and select dancers for which they will create an original choreographic 25-to-30-minute group work. Residency includes a $5,000 honorarium, which covers housing, travel, and per diem expenses. Additional travel funds up to $1,000 are provided for return travel in the fall.
