Convergenze Festival aims to create a dialogue between theatre and real-world experiences, encouraging artists to investigate overlooked places, social issues, personal stories, and urgent contemporary questions through performance. The call welcomes a broad interpretation of documentary theatre, not limited to traditional documentary formats. The organisers are interested in works that engage honestly with reality and address meaningful questions about society, identity, politics, communities, and lived experiences. The selected performance will become part of the festival’s programme and will receive professional support, promotion, and a performance fee. The festival particularly values works that demonstrate a strong connection between artistic research and the world outside the theatre. The chosen artist or company will receive: €2,000 fee (excluding VAT where applicable) Covers artistic fees Travel Transport Production-related expenses Author rights coverage Use of the performance venue for the full day Technical support during setup and performance Italian surtitles for non-Italian productions (from existing English versions) Festival promotion and inclusion in the Convergenze programme Free audience access through reservation
