ARTSinTANK Dance Festival in Korea / ING Dance Korea
Background & Achievements: Since the launch of the ARTSinTANK Dance Festival in Korea in 2018, the festival has developed into a platform for multinational and cross-genre collaborations. The program has included residencies and showcase performances at venues such as Oil Tank Culture Park and the Seoul Art Support Center. Outstanding showcase works have been invited to prestigious stages, including the ARTSinTANK Dance Festival in Korea, the Festival Corée d'ici in France, and the Seongnam Festival, where artists refined their creations into fully realized performances. Multinational residencies and showcases since 2018. Successful showcases at venues such as Oil Tank Culture Park and Seoul Art Support Center. Outstanding works invited to both domestic and international festivals, including France’s Festival Corée d'ici and the Seongnam Festival, where they were further developed into fully realized performances. New Directions (2025–2026): Integration of Korean dance and music experiences into the multinational/multidisciplinary residency and showcase. Creation of original works inspired by uniquely Korean sites such as Daegwangsa Temple (UNESCO-designated), Bulgoksan Mountain, Tancheon, and Jeongja Café Street. Participants in the Winter Camp may return for the Summer Festival (ADFK) (on-site or online) for further development and presentation. Refined structure reflecting feedback from past artists, with a stronger focus on experimental, creative collaboration. Program Goals: Connect international and Korean artists in dance and music. Foster collaboration and creation leading to a final showcase performance. Encourage originality, experimentation, and innovation. Produce collaborative works deeply inspired by Korean culture and artistic spaces. Daegwangsa Temple: Daegwangsa Temple is uniquely located in Seongnam, offering a rare balance between accessibility and tranquility. Unlike many temples nestled deep in the mountains, it’s just outside of Seoul—making it easy to reach while still providing a peaceful, immersive atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, it offers a peaceful environment for reflection, traditional cultural experiences, and spiritual practice. Participants can explore Korea’s heritage through temple life, meditation, and scenic mountain views. 5 Day Schedule: Day 1: Arrival · Temple Tour · Orientation · Artist Introductions · Group Formation. Day 2: Bulgoksan Meditation · Project Planning · Korean Music Workshop · Group Residency · Jeongja Café Street Tour · Free Time. What Makes This Camp Unique?: Cultural Inspiration: Work in unique Korean venues that blend tradition and modernity. Create not in rehearsal studios, but through meditation, nature, and cultural immersion. Authentic Korean Arts Exchange: Engage in traditional Korean dance and music through "Breath" & "Jeong-Jung-Dong (靜中動) " and discover fresh rhythms and movements. Global Networking: Meet artists from around the world, collaborate intensely, and access real opportunities for further festival invitations. Full Support: Accommodation, meals, airport guidance, documentation, and reviews— you can focus fully on your art. From Creation to Stage: Experience the full artistic cycle: improvisation → creation → cultural immersion → showcase performance.
