LatinXperiencia 2026: La Resiliencia

About the Open Call

The 2026 edition focuses on resilience as both a personal and collective force. Artists are encouraged to reflect on how resilience shapes responses to life's challenges—from personal transformation, illness, grief, migration, and creative struggle to broader issues such as authoritarianism, immigration, racial justice, economic inequality, war, and environmental crises. The exhibition welcomes diverse interpretations of resilience, recognising it as a source of adaptability, courage, perseverance, and hope. Through this annual exhibition series, Cabrillo Gallery aims to highlight the richness of LatinX artistic practices while encouraging meaningful cross-cultural conversations within the college community and beyond. The exhibition will be juried by Alyssarhaye Graciano, Visual Arts Curator at MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana).

Requirements

Applicants must: Identify as Latino/a/x artists based in the United States. Submit original artwork responding to the theme "La Resiliencia (Resilience)." Work in any artistic medium or discipline. Submit applications through the CaFÉ (Call for Entry) online platform.
