About the Open Call
VELVET is a call for works made exploring or using the variance, darkness, and graphic power of the color black. Manifest is open to all traditional and non-traditional genre and media. The color black is explored as a subject or medium, including graphite, glazes, ink, charcoal, and more.
What is Offered
Selected artists will have their work exhibited at Manifest Gallery from August 14 to September 11, 2026. Each participating artist receives a $50 cash honorarium. One work may be selected for the Grand Jury Award of $1,000.
Requirements
Entries must represent original works that address the theme. Works must be submitted via online entry form and digital images must follow specific file-naming conventions.
How to Apply
Submit the online entry form on the official website, pay the fee via check or PayPal, and upload digital images of your work to the project Dropbox as instructed.
