Memphis Calling: Open Call for a Curatorial Exhibition Concept

About the Open Call

With MEMPHIS CALLING, Kunstraum Memphis is seeking a curatorial concept for an exhibition featuring multiple artistic positions. We are looking for an independent perspective that complements, shifts, or challenges our existing programme. The exhibition will take place for four to five weeks between mid-January and late February 2027. We are open to spatial, performative, discursive, or participatory formats. The selected applicant will work with the Memphis team to realize the exhibition, with the option of a 10-day working stay in Linz.

What is Offered

Up to €7,500 available for conception and realization, covering curatorial fee, artist fees, travel, production, and technical costs. Includes use of exhibition space, organizational/technical support, and free accommodation for a working stay in Linz.

Requirements

The call is open to curators, artists, and cultural practitioners working curatorially. Applications may be submitted by individuals, duos, or collectives. The proposal must be feasible within the spatial, temporal, and financial conditions of the space.
