MGLC Švicarija
MGLC Švicarija, in collaboration with the Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory and Moderna galerija Ljubljana, invites art writers to reflect on the role of art institutions in difficult socio-political conditions. The residency aims to host an art historian or researcher to engage with topics marking the 30th anniversary of significant 1996 art events in Ljubljana. The resident is required to produce at least one English text (essay, interview, or column) by December 2026.
Free accommodation in a fully equipped studio apartment, travel reimbursement up to 500 EUR (Europe) or 900 EUR (non-Europe), a living stipend of approximately 1350 EUR gross per month, and editorial support.
Skilled writer with proven experience publishing on contemporary art, history, and theory; excellent command of English; ability to produce one piece of writing during the one-month residency period.
Applications must be submitted via the MGLC website application form and include contact details, a 500-word biography, a 500-word description of interests and planned focus, a work plan, a publication plan, and two examples of previously published writing in English.
