New Earth Writers UK Academy Plus

About the Open Call

The New Earth Writers UK Academy Plus supports five early-mid career BESEA playwrights from across the UK in developing a new draft of a full-length play. The programme includes mentorship, masterclasses, and table reads. Participants must be UK residents. The program is free and includes travel bursaries for eligible participants. Selected writers in Manchester and the Midlands may receive additional venue support for projects viable for their programming pipelines.

What is Offered

Mentorship, peer support, dramaturgical feedback, and potential development opportunities with partner venues.

Requirements

Must be a UK resident. Must submit a full, complete new script (60-90 minutes) that is primarily written theatre. Must be an early-mid career BESEA playwright.
