About the Open Call

The Oil Painters of America (OPA) offers various membership tiers for 2026, valid from January 1 to December 31, 2026. Options include Associate Membership ($80), International Associate Membership ($80), Student Membership (free), Student Associate Membership ($40), Collectors’ Circle Membership ($80), and Gallery Membership ($80). Associate members are eligible to jury for national shows and participate in online showcases. International members get digital newsletters, online presentations, and can enter the Spring Online Showcase. Student members can participate in an annual student art competition. Signature and Master Signature memberships have specific eligibility criteria and application deadlines (October 15 and September 1 respectively, for consideration at the December board meeting).

What is Offered

Membership benefits include eligibility to jury for national shows, participation in online showcases, digital newsletters, catalogs, email updates, full access to OPA Lunch & Learn webinars and other online presentations, eligibility for awards, voting rights (for some membership types), special invitations to VIP receptions, and participation in annual student art competitions. Collectors' Circle members receive exclusive access to OPA members-only events and a virtual national catalog.

Requirements

All artists working in the oil medium are encouraged to apply. Student Membership is for individuals aged 14-23. Signature and Master Signature memberships require specific exhibition history within OPA shows. Must be an Associate member to be eligible for Signature, and a Signature member to be eligible for Master Signature.

How to Apply

New members can apply online or by mail using the provided application forms. Renewing and rejoining members can log into their account to pay dues or mail a check to Oil Painters of America PO Box 2488 Crystal Lake, Illinois 60039-2488.
