About the Open Call

This open call aims to showcase the best of UK contemporary art by bringing together emerging and established artists to create a diverse and exciting group exhibition in one of the Midlands foremost Commercial Contemporary Fine Art Galleries. Entries are open from 21st June – 21st July, 2025. Winning submissions will be included in a group exhibition from 30th August – 19th October 2025. Artwork can be on any theme and we will be accepting Artworks using all types of media; paintings, original prints, photography, textiles, drawings, works on paper and 3D works – including sculpture and ceramics. Selected work will be on display in three exhibition spaces; Main gallery, secondary and upstairs gallery spaces. Last year, 344 artists entered and work by 172 artists was shown. Prizes include a £250 cash prize for the winner and invitations for multiple artists to participate in next year's exhibition programme.

Requirements

Entries are available to all artists in the UK. More modestly sized pieces (up to 1m x 1m) will have a higher chance of getting in than very large works (The size limit is 1.5m). All work must be for sale. Selected work must be clearly labelled, protected and ready to hang. Work in transit to and from the gallery must be insured separately by the artist.

How to Apply

Applications are now closed. The process involved submitting up to three pieces with an entry fee of £15 for 1 piece, £20 for 2 pieces, and £25 for 3 pieces. Artists were required to upload two good-quality images for each piece (one of the piece itself and one framed/detail/in-situ). Image file names should include the artist's name and be at least 1200 pixels wide, with a 2MB limit per image. Image details must include Medium, Size (framed size if applicable), edition number (for prints), and Price (all work must be for sale). Selected works must be delivered in person or by post, clearly labeled with Name, Title, Medium, Size, and Price (including Gallery Commission), protected and ready to hang.
