About the Open Call
UPNEXT 2026 is an annual exhibition dedicated to showcasing the next generation of Afro-Nordic artists. Artists aged 18-28 of African descent, born or residing in the Nordics, are invited to submit work that reflects, expands upon or goes into dialogue with the theme of routes/roots. The exhibition will take place from 2 September to 30 October 2026 at the Southnord Artspace in Stockholm.
What is Offered
Selected artists will receive a solo exhibition, an exhibition honorarium, a stipend covering travel costs, and visibility within Southnord's network.
Requirements
Artists must be aged 18-28, of African descent, and born or residing in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden.
How to Apply
Submit a portfolio (3-5 examples of previous work as low-res images or links) and a max 500-word artist statement via the Tally application portal.
