Open call - Artistic projects and early ideas

About the Open Call

Kiruna 2029 is the European Capital of Culture. They are seeking large and medium-sized projects that align with their artistic vision and criteria. They offer up to 50% funding for selected projects. The open call is divided into two submission types: 'Artistic Project' (deadline Oct 31, 2026) and 'Test an Idea' (deadline Dec 31, 2026).

Potential inclusion in the official artistic programme of Kiruna 2029 and up to 50% of the total project budget in funding.

Requirements

Projects must align with five criteria: Homemaking, European Adventure, Perspectives, Finding New Ways, and Power of Culture. Projects must demonstrate a local connection to Kiruna and ideally a European dimension.
