About the Open Call

Diasporas Now Formula is a free creative workshop drawing on holistic East Asian embodiment practices. It offers participants the opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and co-create a performance. It is part of Whitechapel Gallery’s Backyard Biennial: East programme. The workshop covers breathwork, sensory awareness, movement, sound, and improvisation. It focuses on diasporic identity, memory, and belonging.

What is Offered

A practice-led live art workshop/laboratory experience.

Requirements

Targeting up to 25 artists from the Global Majority and/or based in East London (Barking and Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, or Waltham Forest). Interested in diasporic identity, embodied practice, and collaborative performance. No previous performance experience required.
