About the Open Call

Diasporas Now Formula is a creative workshop drawing on holistic East Asian embodiment practices, offering participants the opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and co-create a performance. The event is part of Whitechapel Gallery’s Backyard Biennial: East programme. It is designed as a supportive, inclusive space focusing on diasporic identity, memory, and belonging. No previous performance experience is needed.

What is Offered

Participation in a practice-led live art laboratory and workshop.

Requirements

Applicants should be artists from the Global Majority and/or based in East London (Barking and Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, or Waltham Forest). Interested in exploring diasporic identity and embodied practice. No prior performance experience required.
