About the Open Call

Kunstnarhuset Messen (KHMessen) is accepting applications for its 2026 artist residency program. Residency periods begin on the 1st of each month and end on the last day, with a preference for applicants seeking 1-3 month stays. The program welcomes artists from all disciplines, including visual artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers, and designers. Both established and recently graduated artists are encouraged to apply, and families with children are also welcome. Artists are responsible for a monthly fee of 1000 NOK per person (children free) and must cover all other expenses including living costs, travel, materials, insurance, and transport.

Applicants are advised to prepare all requested information, including CV (max 2 MB PDF), a project plan (max 200 words), documentation of work (website preferred or max 10 MB PDF), and a recent photo (JPEG), in advance to avoid submission errors. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
