About the Open Call

SeMA is seeking an Artistic Director with a distinctive curatorial vision to lead the Seoul Mediacity Biennale—one that critically engages with the possibilities of media and the locality of metropolitan Seoul from a future-oriented perspective. The role involves establishing themes, selecting artists, managing budgets, and coordinating PR for the exhibition scheduled for August–November 2027.

What is Offered

Compensation of approximately KRW 60 million for an individual or KRW 80 million for a team.

Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in contemporary art and experience serving as director or chief curator of an international art project on the scale of a Biennale within the past five years; ability to contribute to international networks; ability to reside in Seoul for sufficient periods.
