MGLC Švicarija (International Centre of Graphic Arts)
The international residency programme supports exploration, reflection, and writing on contemporary visual art and exhibition histories. For 2026, critics are invited to reflect on the role of art institutions in crisis conditions, specifically focusing on the 30th anniversary of two significant Ljubljana art events from 1996. The resident is expected to produce at least one piece of writing in English, which will be published by the organizers.
Free accommodation in a studio apartment, travel reimbursement up to €500 (Europe) or €900 (non-Europe), a gross stipend of approx. €1350 per month, and research/editorial/publishing support.
Open to emerging or established art historians, researchers, critics, or cultural journalists with experience publishing in contemporary art history/theory and an excellent command of English.
Applications must be submitted via the MGLC website using the provided application form. Requirements include contact details, a 500-word biography, a 500-word description of interests/focus, a work plan, and two examples of previously published writing in English.
