Open Call for Dancers: Mind & Heart Art Residency

About the Open Call

Mind and Heart is a new initiative exploring mental health through movement, painting, body art, art therapy, writing, workshops, lectures, and performances. Selected dancers will join an art residency lasting from June 25 to July 6, 2026, collaborating with choreographers, filmmakers, and body painting artists. The residency culminates in a performance at the AgitÁgueda Festival on July 4th and 5th. Participants must be comfortable with body painting and performing in public, have at least three years of professional experience, and strong improvisation skills.

What is Offered

Selected dancers receive a fee of 400€, plus shared accommodation and meals provided from June 25th to July 6th.

Requirements

Applicants must be over 18, based in Portugal, possess at least three years of professional dance training or experience, be comfortable with body painting (nipple covers/specialized undergarments provided), possess strong improvisation skills, and have excellent verbal English communication.
