Pedvale Art Park
The International Artist Residency Pedvale is accepting applicants for its 2026 winter Residency programme, inviting artists for a 4-week residency in January and February dedicated to the winter landscape theme. Applications will select 18 artists in total (9 per month). Groups will include representatives from different areas: visual artists, writers, dancers, and performance artists, with a special welcome for artists from countries without typical winters. Pedvale Art Park & Artist Residency is located two hours northwest of Riga, spanning almost 100 hectares, integrating natural landscape, cultural heritage, and art. Artists are encouraged to draw inspiration from the surroundings and use natural materials. The Residency offers studio/exhibition and outdoor space, fully-equipped lodging, and common areas in a refurbished 19th-century manor house. Residencies run from January 4-31 and February 2-28, accommodating up to 9 artists at a time in private or shared studios (30 sq meters or smaller basement studios). Artists have 24-hour access. Basic workshop equipment and professional lighting are provided, with individual setup based on needs. Artists must self-fund travel and specific materials, but assistance for arrangements is available. There are nearby shops for materials. The artist’s fee is €480 per month, due one month before arrival, covering program costs and historic building maintenance. No grants, stipends, or economical support are offered, but recommendation letters are provided for artists seeking external funding. Artists are expected to exhibit winter landscape-inspired works during the last week of their residency.
The residency offers a studio/exhibition and outdoor space, fully-equipped lodging, gathering spaces, and assistance for arranging necessary materials. Recommendation letters are provided for artists seeking external funding.
