Unplugged Dance
The Unplugged Dance 2026 program, hosted by Paleohori eco-art space, emphasizes embodiment in dance education, research, and choreography. It aims for an open, inclusive approach related to self-determination, empowerment, and expression, fostering collective agency and self-awareness. This year's open call, titled "Listening to a Permanent Culture of Dance," seeks dance workshop proposals that explore movement as a regenerative, living practice, nourishing bodies, artistic work, and ecosystems. Proposals should focus on ecological awareness, approaching the dancing body as interconnected with its environment, and nurturing relational sensitivity. Specific interests include eco-somatics, site-specific practices in natural environments (where space is an active collaborator), process-oriented and participatory formats valuing experience over external validation, and practices expanding dance as a political, cultural, and ecological force for transformation. The program is an immersive residential course of 7 weeks, with facilitators asked to lead 4-10-day workshops for 9-18 mixed participants in English, participate in group circles, and attend preparatory online meetings.
Payment of 50 Euros per facilitating hour (including taxes, if applicable), after the completion of the workshop and upon receipt of a business invoice for your services. Three vegetarian meals per day. Accommodation in a large bell tent with beds (shared with another colleague). Travel expense support of up to 100 euros for facilitators based in Greece, and up to 250 euros for facilitators based abroad.
Facilitators must have explored the proposed topic or approach through previous workshops or research. If selected, collaborators are expected to facilitate a 4-10-day workshop in English for 9-18 mixed participants, participate in group circles during the program, and take part in two preparatory online meetings (February-March 2026). Travel tickets must be booked by January 2026.
Applicants must submit their proposals via the provided Google Form. Prerequisites include having previously explored the proposed topic or approach through workshops or research. Selected applicants will be asked to facilitate a 4-10-day workshop, participate in group circles, and attend two preparatory online meetings between February-March 2026. Travel tickets must be booked by January 2026.
