Open Call: Visual / Mixed-Media Artist in Residence

About the Open Call

We are inviting one visual or mixed-media artist, with a particular interest in video or expanded image practices, to make work at O Castro de Mourelos, an abandoned rural settlement. The selected artist will work in dialogue with a sound artist, an architect, and the artistic director to develop a permanent visual installation integrated into the ruins. The residency lasts 30 days during October 2026 and includes a geodesic dome for accommodation, travel allowance, and a daily stipend.

What is Offered

Travel allowance (€400-€800), daily allowance (€30/day), accommodation in a geodesic dome, mentorship, and full integration into the village's residency program.

Requirements

Must be a legal resident of a European country other than Spain. Must be available for the full 30 days in October 2026.
