COMA
This initiative is designed specifically for first-time composers or those at the very beginning of their composing practice. Participants are encouraged to use ordinary objects as starting points for sound-making, storytelling, rhythm, texture, or conceptual inspiration. The programme reflects CoMA’s mission of making contemporary music creation more inclusive and approachable by removing barriers often associated with formal composition training. Selected works may be performed as part of the project, offering emerging composers an opportunity to have their music shared publicly within a supportive artistic environment.
The call is open to individuals with little or no prior experience in composition. Applicants are expected to create an original piece responding to the theme of “ordinary objects.” Submission guidelines, technical specifications, and participation details are available through CoMA’s official application materials. The project particularly welcomes experimentation and creative approaches from participants of varied backgrounds and musical experiences.
