About the Open Call

For the last eight years, Weserhalle's open call art auction has been an important part of its program, connecting new collectors with emerging artists. Before evolving into 'Openhalle,' a dedicated identity and space for the auction, Weserhalle is hosting one final auction under its name. This special event celebrates the gallery's roots and the community that built the auction, inviting all artists to be part of this farewell and new beginning. The open call is for the final Weserhalle Art Auction, with a deadline of Sunday, November 23rd, 23:59 CET. Artists worldwide can submit one standout artwork. Medium is open, with a maximum size of 80 cm (longest side). Selected artists will have their work showcased in a curated group exhibition at a new venue next to Weserhalle, professionally photographed and featured in an online auction, and actively promoted across Weserhalle’s platforms to its established collector base. Notifications will be sent by November 25, with artwork delivery to Berlin by December 3. The exhibition and online auction will take place from December 6–14. Weserhalle retains a 45% commission on all sales, and artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping costs. Works on paper must be framed by the artist.

Requirements

Submit one standout artwork per artist. Maximum artwork size of 80 cm (longest side). Artwork on paper must be framed by the artist. Artists are responsible for covering delivery and return shipping costs. Artists affirm authenticity and do not infringe on others' rights.

How to Apply

Artists must complete an online submission form, which requires providing personal details, information about their artwork (title, image, production year, category, materials, dimensions, estimated value, starting price), and agreeing to the terms and conditions. A non-refundable application fee of €10 is required, payable via PayPal/Debit + Credit Cards. The submission form can be accessed via the 'Enter Open Call' button on the Weserhalle website.
