About the Open Call

The Palmer Park Art Fair is a boutique juried event located in a historic 200-acre park in Detroit. The fair is limited to about 60 artists to ensure high quality and exclusivity. It targets residents from the city's four wealthiest neighborhoods. The fair has strict rules regarding the originality of work, with specific definitions for prints and reproductions. Artists are responsible for their own weighted booth setups and must carry a $1 million liability insurance policy. AI-generated visual art is explicitly prohibited.

What is Offered

Acceptance into a juried boutique art fair with booth spaces ranging from $475 (Standard) to $900 (Double). Up to 10% of booth spaces are available at a reduced fee or for free for artists in financial need.

Requirements

Work must be original and created by the applicant. Specific medium restrictions apply to jewelry (must not be focused on manufactured components), fiber (no printing on shirts/bags), and photography (must be signed/numbered). Tents must be weighted with at least 40lbs per corner. At least one artist from the application must be present during the event.
