Kolaj Institute
During the 'Politics in Collage: Midterm Report on the Rise of Authoritarianism' Residency, collage artists will work together to make artwork that responds to a global rise in authoritarianism. Using the book, The Authoritarian Regime Survival Guide, as a starting point, artists will learn how to read and decode authoritarianism, understand how it operates, and strategies for resisting it. Participants will explore the history of political collage, present weekly collages for critical feedback, and develop artist statements. The residency is led by G.E. Vogt with guest appearances and mentorship from Ric Kasini Kadour and Ginger Sisco Cook.
Virtual residency program, publication in a zine, mentorship, feedback sessions, and potential to present work during a Kolaj LIVE Online event.
Artists over the age of 21, ability to commit a minimum of ten hours a week, and submission of bio, practice statement, and 5-7 images of artwork.
