About the Open Call

The open call invites submissions from quilt artists working in Art Quilts, Bed Quilts, and Wall Quilts. The exhibition seeks works that demonstrate outstanding design, technical skill, and originality, spanning traditional quilting practices through to contemporary art quilts. Selected works will be presented in a juried exhibition at View Arts Center, with awards presented during the exhibition opening. The 2026 exhibition will be juried by quilt artist Sue Cortese, with awards judged by Pat Harrison, both recognised leaders in the quilting field. In addition to exhibition opportunities, participating artists may have their work available for sale, with a gallery commission applied to sales.

Requirements

Applicants must: Submit Art, Bed, or Wall Quilts. Ensure all quilts are constructed with stitching through all three layers. Submit work completed within the last four years. Submit original work that has not previously been exhibited at View Arts Center. Credit the pattern designer where applicable. Note that kit quilts and hand-tied quilts are not eligible.
