Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity
In this six-day course, participants will critically examine Canada’s cultural policy—its colonial foundations, development, and ongoing systemic inequities—while situating it within a broader international context. This program offers a space for bold thinking, critical reflection, and practical action, where participants can connect, challenge assumptions, and co-create a more inclusive and responsive policy landscape. It focuses on unpacking colonial foundations, navigating multi-level governance, understanding funding cycles, and applying human-centered/regenerative design to policy.
Six-day intensive professional development program featuring group seminars, workshops, accommodation, and meal plan options.
Targeted at arts, heritage, and creative industry professionals including administrators, managers, directors, producers, consultants, and artists. Applicants working outside these sectors must demonstrate how the program benefits their work. Must be 18+.
Applicants must complete an online form via the Banff Centre portal, pay an application fee, and upload materials including a two-page resume/CV and a program-specific questionnaire (written or video). Financial aid applications are submitted within the portal.
