Van Alen Institute
Van Alen Institute has relaunched the Paris Prize in Architecture as the Re:Paris Prize, with a new focus on reparative and regenerative urbanism across the global post-colonial landscape. The US-based winner receives a $35,000 travel fellowship to conduct field research that engages communities navigating histories of displacement and exclusion. Successful proposals must address themes such as land use, resilient design, digital infrastructures, interdependent ecosystems, or cultural hybridity. Winners will collaborate to present their findings at the Van Alen Institute in Fall 2027 and the second Pan-African Biennale in 2028.
$35,000 travel fellowship
Proposals must require international travel for field research, move a concept or project to the next phase of development, engage impacted communities, and address specific themes in reparative and regenerative urbanism.
