About the Open Call

ACEA (Ateliers de Création et d’Expression Artistique) offers an artist residency program in Marnay-sur-Seine, France, open to various artistic disciplines including plastic arts, living arts, and music. The residency provides a dynamic and rural creative environment for artists, aiming to foster exchange and new aesthetic experiences. It accommodates 2 artists simultaneously for a duration of 1 to 2 months.

What is Offered

Artists are provided with a private room and bathroom, a common kitchen shared with other residents, and a personal studio. The residency offers opportunities for public exhibitions and discussions of their work, weekly trips to local shops for supplies and groceries, and two group excursions to explore the region. Information on daily life, local culture, and art is also provided, along with opportunities for interaction with villagers. Invitation letters and certificates can be provided for artists applying for grants in their home countries.

Requirements

Applicants are selected by a committee based on their artistic projects. Artists are responsible for their own airfare, transportation (to/from airport, personal travel within France), visas, daily expenses (food, health, travel insurance), and art supplies. ACEA is an independent project and unable to provide financial aid.
