DYNAMO
We are receiving applications for cross-aesthetic residencies during 2026 and 2027 in DYNAMO. The residencies offered through this call are thematic and open to circus artists and companies who work cross-aesthetically with music composition and contemporary circus. We are excited to discover new work that is being created with circus and music dramaturgy at its core, ranging from research and experimental to productions close to premiering. The projects can be within any circus discipline and any musical genre. Professional contemporary circus artists and companies are welcome to apply. Through its residency programme, DYNAMO aims to support the circus environment to its fullest extent by also providing artists with the opportunity to do unrestricted creative work and contribute to the development of contemporary circus in the Nordic region and Europe. This call is for two types of residency, differing in length. Applying for one residency type does not exclude you from consideration for the other, so you are welcome to apply to both. Space is an important resource for us, so it’s mandatory to be present and working in space during the entire period we offer. The Long Residency: This is a residency for 4 weeks consecutively in the period 26th May – 21st June 2026 on our Main Stage. These residencies will take place either on our Main Stage or Studio, depending on availability. This residency is open to applicants from anywhere in the world, Denmark included. You get access to basic circus rigging equipment, crash mats and such. Basic lights and sound and technical support for the public presentation. Access to a backstage area, for meetings or rest. A public work in progress showing is part of the residency agreement. The showing will also be included in the program for our audience. The Long residency: Only applicants from Nordic-Baltic countries, excluding Denmark. The Short residency: Any professional artist or group/company based anywhere in the world, including Denmark.
