About the Open Call

Velvetpark is offering a 3-month residency program for writers and visual artists in 2026. The studio space is 114 sq ft. (14' x 8') with 12' ceilings and a large 6'x6' window, located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Applicants must read the checklist and FAQs before beginning the application. There are two residency terms available: January 5th - March 31st, 2026, and April 3rd - June 28th, 2026. The application requires a project proposal (100-250 words), a project outline, work samples, and two references (professional and personal). Biographical information including resume/CV and demographic details are also requested.

Two residents are awarded a 3-month studio residency term.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a project proposal (100-250 words), a project outline for utilizing the studio space within the 3-month term, work samples (up to 10 files, 10MB max, .Pdf format), two references (professional and personal), and a resume/CV (.pdf document).
