About the Open Call
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) in partnership with the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) invites professional artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for consideration for two (2) site-specific public art commissions at Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW). Site CM3 ($170,000) and Site BC2 ($155,000). The goal is to provide entertainment, beautification, visual and placemaking opportunities through the art program.
What is Offered
Two site-specific public art commissions with budgets of $170,000 and $155,000. Finalists receive a $1,500 honorarium for conceptual design proposals.
Requirements
Letter of Interest, 6–10 images of past large-scale public art projects, annotated image list, résumé or CV, optional video, and team roles if applying as a team.
