Swanfall
The current open call centres around the exhibition theme Fables, which explores how narrative functions in contemporary art as a way of shaping perception, memory, and emotional resonance. Artists are invited to submit work across a wide range of media, including painting, installation, moving image, text, sound, sculpture, and performance. The exhibition aims to foreground artworks that generate conceptual depth, emotional engagement, and open-ended interpretation rather than purely formal or aesthetic concerns. Selected artists will exhibit at Mall Galleries in London and benefit from professional curation, visibility, networking opportunities, and potential awards including exhibition opportunities, representation, and career development support.
Applicants must submit artworks or portfolios that respond to the exhibition’s thematic focus on narrative, resonance, and shared experience. The open call is international and welcomes artists working across all contemporary media and at different career stages. Submission materials generally include: Images or documentation of artworks Artist statement or portfolio Artwork details (medium, dimensions, installation requirements) Submission fee (varies depending on application type) Selected works must meet exhibition size and installation requirements, particularly for sculpture and installation works.
