Résidence Fontevraud + Ackerman

About the Open Call

The Maison Ackerman and the Abbaye royale de Fontevraud host an annual residency for an artist to create a site-specific work in the underground troglodytic galleries. The 2027 theme is 'Voyages' (Travels), encouraging immersive works that explore movement, history, and the Maison's legacy. Works should be ephemeral and account for the high humidity of the environment. The project also requires an illustration for product labels/packaging. Shortlisted artists receive 500 EUR for the creation of an intention dossier.

What is Offered

Artist residency including accommodation at the Abbaye royale de Fontevraud, access to studio space, and 500 EUR for shortlisted artists to develop an intention proposal.

Requirements

The artist must be able to create an immersive work suitable for a high-humidity, underground environment. Must be willing to provide an illustration for product labels/packaging. Must submit documentation in a single PDF of max 20 pages and 4MB.
