Alliance for Young Artists & Writers
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers is seeking art and/or writing-focused organizations to serve as adjudication partners for the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards through the satellite region, Region-at-Large. This paid partnership includes a $2,500 honorarium for judging assigned works. Judging takes place asynchronously between December 17 and January 7. As a partner, your organization gains affiliation with the prestigious Scholastic Awards, recognition, branded materials, and access to Alliance staff support. This role is vital for promoting equity and inclusion and supporting young artists and writers. Art Adjudication Process: Art partners must judge up to 6,000 entries. Adjudication is conducted in a majority rules setting with 3 jurors voting yes or no to advance a work, facilitated by a moderator via an online adjudication portal. Partners need to recruit 10–15 jurors (staff or qualified volunteers) and staff members to serve as moderators. Art adjudication can be done in person or remotely via screen-sharing video conference. A coordinator from the partner's team is also required to assign jurors and moderators to panels based on category. Writing Adjudication Process: Writing partners must judge between 1,000–1,250 entries. Adjudication is done remotely, with individual jurors signing into accounts for various categories to read assigned works. Partners should recruit 10–15 individual jurors (approximately 100 entries per juror, varying by category). A site coordinator is needed to assign jurors to panels and monitor their progress.
