About the Open Call
Apples and Snakes is hosting Scratch Poetry Festival to help performance poets test new material, gather feedback, and build foundations for full-length shows. Artists can participate in a 'Pitch Stop' (3-minute concept pitch) or 'Scratch Showcase' (10-15 minute performance extract). Selected artists receive a performance fee of £250 and travel coverage within England. The event takes place on 11 November 2026 at Storyhouse, Chester. This opportunity is exclusively open to artists based in England.
