About the Open Call

Rather than a festival or exhibition, we are carving out a space to encourage a literal pause in life and ‘mindful use of this easily accessible medium’ by underscoring critical thought and creation. Leaning away from social media and insta- “content creation” (vanity metrics) we hope to allow a straightforward space without the unnecessary pressure of views/likes. Each Season will highlight still images from the selected Artists which will then link back to the their video work on their website or preferred video platform. This is to encourage visibility in the Artist’s own environment. In place of an Artist statement or bio, we will conduct micro interviews consisting of three questions for the Artists who wish to participate and share. This is to give a more in-depth and critical lens into their work and themes. We will continue to experiment and explore within these restructures. FAQ: - Please submit works with a maximum running time of ten (10) minutes. - Please submit works that include both your original video and sound in the same piece. If you are not the sole creator of the video and/or sound, please include all collaborators, and/or list public domain/open source. Artists are responsible for all audio and visual copyright compliance. -Please submit your work by providing a link to your website, drive or other preferred video platform. We will not be able to download any video files. - Please provide a link to an image file of your choice for review (a paused place in your video). We will only download your still image if your work is selected for the respective season. We will not be selecting your still from the work. Please no artist headshots or documentation. - We will not have any ownership or rights associated with the submitted image. The still provided will belong to the Artist. Artists are responsible for visual copyright compliance. - Archives will exist on this website indefinitely. Our goal is to create a space for likeminded artists to find others working in the same medium. In the event of password protected and/or expired links, we will default to directly linking to your website. Or, kindly send us updated and/or preferred links if your domains or hosting platforms change. - There is no cost associated with submitting or having your work remain in the archive. We hope it remains accessible and useful for all. - All information is only saved for archival purposes (never sold and will never be shared without your permission). What is Offered
